Today a friend suggested that we go to the beach for the afternoon. It was sunny and a very warm 32C. I was a little bit nervous about being in the heat during the day while fasting. I have never been a 'sun worshiper' and I get over heated easily, but it was such a gorgeous day and I knew there would be a breeze coming off the Atlantic Ocean and I really wanted to hang out by the water, so I thought "why not?".

Well, it was a great decision. There were lots of families and friends laughing, playing, swimming and have a great time. Just being surrounded by all that joy was incredible. Although, as usual, I was thirsty, I was not hungry, and I did not feel any ill-effect from being in the sun. Special thanks to my great friend Amine for a wonderful afternoon and his, as ever, brilliant conversation!
Every day, Ramadan gets easier and easier. I am simply amazed. Oh, and my body is shrinking - added bonus!
